If thats what you want to do, you might as well not move. If you want your designer clothes, high speed internet, 500 channles, and upscale cars; stay home. The best way to get an idea of the cost of living in Costa Rica is to check out online newspapers and ads. The one I found most helpful when looking up the cost of living in Costa Rica was Hiper mas.

Hiper mas is a larger “Wal-Mart” style store near San Jose. Don’t worry, these larger chain store don’t litter the country like wal-marts do in the U.S. Hiper mas publishes their weekly flyer online. These flyers give you a good idea of the average cost of living in Costa Rica.
